Student Representative Council
Each year, up to sixteen students are elected to the Student Representative Council (the SRC) to represent their fellow students. Election of a number of Year 11 students takes place towards the end of the first term of each school year. These students will hold office for Terms 2, 3 and 4 of Year 11 and for Year 12. Elections for future Year 12 student members shall take place towards the end of Term 3. The Executive of the SRC shall consist of two Presidents – a young man and woman, as well as a secretary and a treasurer.
The aims of the SRC include:
- promoting, encouraging and facilitating student involvement within the school community in activities which may strengthen and enrich the school community and promote the Ignatian ideal of being ‘men and women for others’
- providing a means for expression of student opinion on matters affecting the student body and to make recommendations to the Principal on these matters
- raising monies for the purpose of funding approved student activities within the SRC, for the promotion of social justice or environmental issues or for donation to charitable bodies.
